Clarkson Continues Upward Path for Struggling Lakers
While this may be a lost season for the Lakers in terms of competing for a playoff spot, they certainly don’t want their young playmaker becoming injury-prone. He already dealt with a knee setback earlier in the season.
When healthy, Clarkson has been one of the few bright spots for the Lakers the past couple of seasons. He earned a spot on the NBA All-Rookie First Team last season with 11.9 points and 3.5 assists per game and is posting 15.5 points a night in 2015-16.
He is more of a scoring guard, even if he frequently handles the point guard duties, but he is versatile enough to set up his teammates when necessary. If Clarkson continues to develop into a consistent player, the Lakers could have a potent backcourt for years to come with the Missouri product and D’Angelo Russell.
