Marshawn Lynch Owns Cairo Varsity Basketball Player in 1-on-1 Matchup

Vanessa de BeaumontMar 2, 2016

Marshawn Lynch treats basketball rims the same way he treats NFL defenders—he attacks them.

Although the former Seattle Seahawks running back has elected to hang up his cleats, he surely isn't making the switch to hardwood (if that shot is any indication).

Rather, this emphatic dunk over Adam Afifi, a varsity Cairo American College basketball player, is simply one of the many amusing things Lynch has taken part in during his trip to Egypt as an American Football Without Barriers ambassador. (See also: ghost-riding camels and sliding down ramps.)

Not convinced this is related to his official duties? Allow us to explain.

By beating the talented, young hoops player at his own game, Lynch is dissuading him from continuing his basketball pursuits (and therefore, inadvertently making a case for him to put on some helmet and pads).

Notice the basket still shaking moments after Lynch left? At the rim-rattling rate he's going, he's sure to soon have a legion of recruits.
