Since 2005, Rich Eisen has been steadily improving his 40-yard dash time, with one glaring exception—2015.
During his 11th annual suit-clad run, the NFL Network host, one year removed from posting his first sub-6.00 time, added 0.12 seconds back onto his mark.
This year, however, spurred by the need to redeem himself and by five-year-old Allana, a St. Jude Children's Hospital patient seen standing on the sideline, the football analyst turned in his best clip yet: 5.94 seconds, a whole .83 seconds shaved off his original time (6.77).
How did he do it? According to colleague Mike Mayock, Eisen's 2016 departure was his "best start ever." Could it be that a last-minute workout with Brandon Marshall helped his 10-split?
A visual comparison of his most recent runs suggests as much:
Despite eclipsing his personal best, Eisen's performance didn't quite stack up against the NFL combine's crop of pro hopefuls.
