Manchester United Transfer News: Omar Elabdellaoui, Johannes Eggestein Rumours
Manchester United are ready to revive their interest in Olympiakos right-back Omar Elabdellaoui this summer after failing in a winter bid. Plus, prolific Werder Bremen youngster Johannes Eggestein is drawing the Red Devils' eye.
According to the Daily Mail's Simon Jones, United scouts were in attendance to watch Elabdellaoui last Thursday, when Olympiakos slipped to a 2-1 extra-time defeat at Anderlecht's hands in the Europa League round of 32.

Jones mentioned in his report that Louis van Gaal's side made a £7 million move for the former Manchester City academy player, but Greek giants Olympiakos presumably couldn't be convinced to cash in.
The player's agent, Jim Solbakken, was quoted by Samuel Luckhurst of the Manchester Evening News after he addressed the Red Devils rumours on January transfer deadline day. He said: "The interest of Manchester United is in place. We will see what happens during the night."
United have been exposed by injuries this season, and defence has been hit worse than any other area of the pitch as blows to Antonio Valencia and last year's summer signing, Matteo Darmian, have limited options at right-back.
Norwegian football writer Brendan Husebo recently congratulated Elabdellaoui after winning a second Greek Super League title with Olympiakos in as many seasons:
The 24-year-old would be a very affordable investment for the Premier League giants, and the promise of having a Manchester City "reject" succeed at Old Trafford would simply provide another added extra.
Closer to the attack, Jones' report added that Werder Bremen starlet Eggestein as another reported target for United after he's netted 22 goals in just 17 outings for the club's under-19s outfit.

Eggestein has been offered a new contract by Werder Bremen, but with his current deal in north Germany set to expire at the end of this season, the striker may be weighing up his options.
Twitter user Bundesliga Scout recently proclaimed the 17-year-old should remain in his current setting due to the fact a move to one of Europe's elite offers no promise of first-team football:
"Johannes #Eggestein should stay in @werderbremen at this stage. Those clubs wont play unproven inexperienced striker https://t.co/FoVzg2nXcq

Van Gaal has just unearthed 18-year-old scoring sensation Marcus Rashford, who scored the second brace of his senior United career against Arsenal on Sunday, but more forward recruits may not go astray.
Eggestein has been promoted to Germany's under-18 side after scoring 10 goals in 18 games for the under-17s, boasting a collective record of 28 goals in 21 games for Werder Bremen under-19s.
