Manchester United vs. Arsenal: Starting XIs, Teams for 2016 Premier League Game

Matt JonesFeb 28, 2016

After their disappointing Champions League loss to Barcelona in midweek, Arsenal’s focus will be squarely on the Premier League again this weekend, as they head to Old Trafford to face Manchester United.

United have the chance to make up some ground in the race for a spot in the top four, with local rivals Manchester City in action in the League Cup final. So this is a must-win for manager Louis van Gaal’s men, who will be desperate to salvage something from this Premier League campaign. The Red Devils' Twitter feed revealed Van Gaal's XI for this one:

The Gunners were three points back on leaders Leicester City heading into this round of fixtures, and with local rivals Tottenham Hotspur also in the hunt for glory, they will need to keep the pressure on with a victory. Here’s the team named by manager Arsene Wenger for this vital tussle, per the Arsenal Twitter account:

This has long been one of the Premier League’s standout fixtures, and with the Gunners in the race for glory, it is set to have a significant say on who is crowned champions come the end of the season. If Arsenal can win here, having only done so on one of their last six visits to Old Trafford, then they will surely be favourites to finish top of the pile.
