Valencia became one of the first teams ever to lose a penalty shootout without missing from the spot on Tuesday in a fiery UEFA Youth League tie against Chelsea.
After the match finished 1-1, 18-year-old Alberto Gil stepped up to take the Spanish outfit's first penalty.
And he literally placed it too well, the ball rebounding back off the bottom corner stanchion and to safety, fooling the referee but not the visiting Valencia players.
Valencia's official Twitter feed—and that of first-team manager Gary Neville—was not impressed:
The visitors converted the remainder of their penalties, but so too did Chelsea, who advance to the last eight against either Lyon or Ajax.
A wild shootout got even feistier moments later:
To rub salt into the wound, the visitors had a chance to win the match in normal time when they fired an 83rd-minute penalty over the crossbar.
Valencia have confirmed they will protest the decision, as per the BBC.
