BELFAST, NORTHERN IRELAND - NOVEMBER 18: Carl Frampton (L) and Scott Quigg (R) exchange heated words during the WBA and IBF super-bantamweight world title unification pre-fight press conference at Europa Hotel on November 18, 2015 in Belfast, Northern Ir

Former IBF world bantamweight champion Stuart Hall sits on a significant perch to offer his opinion on the fight, having held the belt for six months before his defeat to Paul Butler in 2014, per the BBC. He believes Frampton has the edge for the upcoming fight, per George Gigney of Boxing News, commenting:

"

I've said Frampton all along. I think he'll outbox Quigg, he's got a lot more ability and he's been in there with the better opposition. When Quigg stopped Kiko Martinez, everyone thought 'oh, he's got a lot of power' and I did agree, and he could well blast Frampton out, we just don’t know. But I really think Frampton will either win on points by a wide margin or get a late stoppage.

"

The excited IBF champ is counting down the minutes before the first bell rings:

Martinez, a former champion himself, has felt the full force of both these competitors. The heavy-handed ex-king was surprisingly direct in his belief in who would take the prize in Manchester, insisting Frampton has an overwhelming advantage over his opponent.

"Frampton is my favourite," Martinez told RingTV.com via Oscar Zardain of Maravilla Box. "In my opinion (Carl) is a better fighter than Scott, 100 percent much more skilled than him. Scott is a good fighter too but he had his lucky night when he fought against me."

The Quigg-Frampton fight is a perfect matchup between two very even boxers, with both men occupying the top four in division, per FightNews. Frampton is No. 3 in the world and Quigg No. 4.

In Belfast-born Frampton's last fight against Alejandro Gonzalez Jr. in July, he was floored twice in the first round but recovered well to claim a unanimous points win. Meanwhile, for Quigg from Bury—not far from the upcoming venue in Manchester—he took down Martinez in two rounds in El Paso, Mexico to retain his title in the same month, per the BBC

Per Gareth A Davies of the Daily Telegraph, the pair are expected to earn over £1.5 million each for their involvement in the blockbuster. It remains very difficult to split the two boxers on the night. Frampton boasts a classy style, all-round punching power combined with a complete set of skills, speed, technical prowess and ability.

However, Quigg also has his own skill set comparable to Frampton but—in addition has huge momentum behind him. He is coming off the back of a devastating display against a former champion.

That performance against Martinez not only displayed his punching power but also a ruthless streak not previously seen in his career.
