Nick Kyrgios Hits Back at Online Critic After Maiden ATP Tour Win
Australian tennis star Nick Kyrgios had a sharp response for one particular online critic after winning his first ATP Tour title in Marseille.
The controversial 20-year-old beat top-10 ranked Richard Gasquet and Tomas Berdych in straight sets en route to overcoming Mario Cilic 6-2, 7-6 in Sunday's final.
But that wasn't enough to convince one critic, who commented on Kyrgios' Facebook page: "A fluke—you won't win again. A minor tournament."
Kyrgios, though, was having none of it, responding sarcastically: "Yep. Gasquet, Berdych & Cilic in straight sets back to back is a fluke and "minor". See ya hater."
With his maiden win Kyrgios is set to move up to No. 32 in the world rankings, a significant climb ahead of the French Open in May.
