Ray Allen Launching Organic South Miami Fast-Food Restaurant

Vanessa de BeaumontFeb 19, 2016

Ray Allen is bringing more healthy eats to South Beach in March, but he doesn't have swimsuit season in mind.

The NBA legend and his wife, Shannon, will be debuting Grown—a nutritious, affordable fast-food restaurant, complete with dine-in, carry-out and drive-thru options—as a response to their nine-year-old son Walker's struggle with Type 1 diabetes.

For anywhere between $4 and $18, diners will be able to get breakfast, lunch and dinner menu items, including an organic assortment of juices, smoothies, soups, salads, sandwiches and wraps.

The restaurant's plans include some cool features, like a 1,900-square-foot rooftop garden, 100-year-old reclaimed barn wood, plantable menus and kids meals packages.

Delicious, nutritious and conscientious. Sounds like the perfect recipe.
