EA Sports Awards Lionel Messi Purple 'FIFA' Card After 300th La Liga Goal
Lionel Messi has been bestowed with the honour of a purple FIFA 16 card by the game's maker, EA Sports, after the Barcelona superstar netted his 300th La Liga goal on Wednesday.
The Argentinian became the first player to reach the landmark, prompting EA Sports to celebrate his achievement.

The upgrade comes with a significant ratings boost across his attributes, including pace, dribbling and passing.
Such cards are a feature of the Ultimate Team game mode, which allows players to collect and trade the world's best players in a bid to build the best squad.
Futhead (via the Sport Bible) says Messi's new card will cost at least 5 million coins in the game's marketplace.
