New York Jets wide receiver Brandon Marshall has always been one to speak his mind—and he isn't about to change his style anytime soon.
The 31-year-old wideout took some time on Tuesday night to interact with fans on Twitter. While sharing some of his thoughts on both his career and the NFL in general, there was one tweet that stood out above the rest.
A fan slyly asked Marshall a question about New England Patriots coach Bill Belichick:
You see how the fan worded that tweet? "Say nothing if true." That's not a bad approach, given that professional athletes don't always have time to respond to every tweet they receive. But that wasn't getting past the six-time Pro Bowler.
Rather than give the typical "I respect Belichick" or "He's a good coach" answer, Marshall responded in bold fashion:
Now that's interesting.
Marshall, of course, has spent some time in the AFC East, playing two seasons for the Miami Dolphins and one (so far) with the Jets. According to Pro-Football-Reference.com, Marshall has averaged 78.7 yards and scored five touchdowns in 10 games against Belichick's Patriots. Also of note, the star wideout's teams are 3-7 in those games.
It will be interesting to see if Belichick makes shutting down Marshall a priority in 2016 after this tweet.
