Cesaro Rules Himself Out of WrestleMania
Monday, Feb. 15
In an interview with Matthew Priest that's set to be published in an upcoming issue of Esquire Middle East, the former United States champion said his left shoulder will not be healthy in time for WrestleMania 32 at AT&T Stadium.
Cesaro, who underwent surgery to repair his left rotator cuff Nov. 23, originally had a recovery timeline of four to six months. By the time April hits, Cesaro will be nearing the five-month mark of his recovery. It seems as though he will be out until late May, which could be in time for the Payback pay-per-view.
He told Spanish outlet Planeta Wrestling in January that his recovery was going well, but he was not sure when he would return.
Cesaro has appeared at live events while recovering, and he spoke to the crowd at an event in Germany last week, per Pro Wrestling Magazine:
Cesaro was gaining some momentum before suffering the injury, and a comeback at WrestleMania would have been the perfect way to regain it.
Nevertheless, his eventual return will be much needed for a roster that's dealing with injuries to top stars such as John Cena (shoulder) and Seth Rollins (knee).
