Australian Side Stages Incredible Comeback from 6-1 Down to Win 8-6

An otherwise low-key pre-season friendly tournament in Australia has made headlines after Gold Coast City staged a truly incredible comeback to overturn a 6-1 deficit to win 8-6 after extra time.

The Queensland State League side conceded six goals in 63 minutes in the BLK Silver Boot third-place playoff to leave them five behind opponents Holland Park Hawks with less than half an hour to play.

But up stepped former Queen of the South forward Lyndon Dykes, who came off the bench to hit a hat-trick and help take the game to extra time.

He then added another after the restart as Gold Coast hit seven goals without reply to seal a remarkable win.
