Different categories and breeds of dogs will be split up among the two days with all-important Best in Show as the competition's finale.

Competition Schedule

Monday: Hound, Toy, Non-Sporting and Herding groups

Tuesday: Junior Showmanship, Sporting, Working, Terrier, Best in Show

Fans of the show and dog lovers will have an opportunity to win some big money this year as well. Purina, one of the leading pet food producers, is hosting a $1 million bracket where fans can predict the winners of Best in Group and Best in Show.

There is no rhyme or reason when it comes to predicting a Best in Show winner. Over the past 10 years, eight different breeds have taken home the title.

2006Bull Terrier (Colored)Barbara Bishop & W F Poole & N Shepherd & R P Pool & Dorothy Cherry
2007Spaniel (English SpringerTeresa Patton & Allen Patton & R Dehmel & D Hadsall
2008Beagle (15 Inch)Caroline Dowell & Eddie Dziuk & Jon Woodring & Kathy Weichert
2009Spaniel (Sussex)Cecilia Ruggles & Beth Dowd & Scott Sommer
2010Scottish TerrierAmelia Musser
2011Scottish DeerhoundSally Sweatt & Cecilia L Dove & Dr R Scott Dove
2012PekingeseIris Love & S Middlebrooks & D Fitzpatrick
2013AffenpinscherZoila Truesdale & Mieke Cooymans
2014Fox Terrier (Wire)Victor Malzoni Jr & Torie Steele & S & M Olund & D Ryan
2015Beagle (15 Inch)Eddie Dziuk & Lori Crandlemire & Kaitlyn Crandlemire

However, if history does suggest anything over the past 10 years, it's that the beagle and the spaniel could be in the running toward the end of the competition.

With over 3,000 dogs entering the show, it won't be easy to choose a winner. But for anyone who loves dogs, they will certainly get their fill of man's best friend at the biggest dog show of the year.
