Leicester City Fan Wins £1,100 After Cashing Out on 5,000-1 Bet

With all the talk about Leicester City fans placing outrageous bets on the Foxes to win the Premier League title, it's nice to see someone taking advantage of their lofty place on the table.

One punter put £1 on Claudio Ranieri's side to lift the trophy at the start of the season at odds of 5,000-1.

And with Leicester sitting pretty at the top of the pile ahead of Sunday's trip to Arsenal, he took the opportunity to cash in on their success, winning £1,100 in the process, reported the Mirror.

The 20-year-old, who wanted to remain anonymous, said he plans to use his winnings to follow the side during the last few months of the season.

"Over a grand is too good an offer to turn down, and it will go toward trains and tickets to follow Leicester chase the dream in the title run in," he said. "Football isn't cheap these days, and the feeling of winning the league will be priceless anyway.

"I'd rather keep the cash for football than have my girlfriend find out," he said. "I might stretch to 12 roses instead of six, though."
