Respect This: Why Brett's Record is better than Barry's
The past few months have left most of us in disdain for the world of sports. Last Sunday, everyone had something to be proud of. In this case, sports finally got a legitimate record breaker in the form of the "Senior Leader" of the NFL. Simply Put: Brett Favre bested Barry Bonds for best sports story of 2007. Only difference is that controversy didn't follow Brett's career.
Bonds Destroyed His Own Career
Barry Bonds spent the entire season blaming everyone for his mistakes. In all honesty, I agree with the Phillies fans. Until Barry Bonds admits that he juiced up or pop a pill every now and then, he will always be considered the bad guy of baseball.
Unfortunately, it's that one scene in Blazing Saddles before Mongo came into play. You know the scene right?

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
In any event, it's amazing how much people still admire the guy and make a big fuss over his "infamous" home run ball. I have an idea about that ball: Have Barry bend over and spread 'em. At least that way, he gets the same treatment that he has given so many of us for so many years.
So here's the truth, Barry: You're a liar and a cheat. Until you prove that your instant weight gain was just coincidence and not drug related, I will continue to call you that. Send your lawyers if you choose. I eat legal wimps for breakfast.
Brett Serves Dan Some Humble Pie
Dan Marino set a majority of the quarterback records in the league today. The only thing that Dan couldn't do during his time as quarterback for the Dolphins: Win a Super Bowl.
Brett Favre has been to the postseason on numerous occasions including two straight Super Bowl appearances.
On a relaxing Sunday in the Metrodome in Minneapolis, Favre broke two of Marino's long standing records. The first one was the passing touchdown record as Favre hit #421 early in the first quarter. Later in the game, Marino saw another one of his records broken when Brett broke the passing attempts record as well. What a fitting way for a man to possibly finish his career. Another Super Bowl ring seems a little more in the cards with the Packers since going 4-0 for the first time since that infamous Super Bowl year.
Who Deserves More Respect?
Regardless of age and number of years in their respective business, the only thing bad or negatively said about Brett Favre was that he was too old and should have retired a long time ago. If we were going to say everything that has been said about Barry Bonds, we would be here for a while.
You know that you have respect when you got the enemy's fans giving you a standing ovation. Favre didn't want to speak to the fans until the game was over. Bonds took as much time to soak up the tainting that he did.
Dan Marino was doing his pregame show, otherwise he would have been there. Hank Aaron wouldn't even show up to celebrate the damage that was being done in San Francisco. The only reason that he made a video was because Bud Selig asked him to.
So to answer the question: Brett breaking Dan's record deserves more credibility than Barry tarnishing Hank's. So the man who is pushing 40 deserves more respect than the man who doesn't even look 40.
My vote is for Brett.
