Harris Out vs. Spurs
Wednesday, Feb. 10
The Magic announced Harris won't play on Wednesday night against San Antonio.
Durable Harris Crucial to Magic Hopes
Harris hadn’t missed a game all season prior to Sunday. His absence forced the Magic to employ a starting lineup of Elfrid Payton at the point, Oladipo at shooting guard, Evan Fournier at Harris' post at small forward, Aaron Gordon at power forward and Nikola Vucevic at center.
On Monday morning, Harris’ name was linked to trade speculation given the Magic’s continued struggles at 22-28 and Harris’ decline in production, per Marc Stein of ESPN.com.
Harris is averaging 13.7 points and 32.9 minutes per game while shooting 46.4 percent—all figures slightly down from a year ago. And though his production has seen a minor decrease this season, he’s still a proven commodity who would help most teams, including the Magic.
