Super Bowl Halftime Show 2016: Final Prop Odds List, Predictions for Coldplay

The NFL hasn't pulled any punches with Super Bowl 50's halftime slate.

Neither has Las Vegas.

The league went ahead and planned what it hopes will be the most memorable halftime show in history, and it just so happened to get Peyton Manning and the Denver Broncos against Cam Newton and the Carolina Panthers as an added bonus.

This is Coldplay's event, but Beyonce, Bruno Mars and who knows how many other historic artists will join the band to put on a show. For bettors, the only way to make it even better is with creative odds.

Las Vegas has certainly held up its end of the bargain.

Coldplay has plenty of upbeat songs that would fit perfectly as the opener. Epics such as "Fix You" and "Speed of Sound" certainly come to mind.

While most of the above figures to get a spin since the band has to go with something recognizable to keep the crowd involved, the options really come down to two tracks—"Adventure of a Lifetime" and "Viva La Vida."

On one hand, it makes sense the band would go with its most recent release to get the crowd going, which would be "Adventure of a Lifetime." On the other, one would think Coldplay would want to go with the most recognizable song right out of the gates, which means "Viva La Vida" would get the nod.

For Pepsi, at least, that song was the obvious choice for promotional material:

Lead singer Chris Martin has done some serious research for this performance, so he knows the value of opening with a song everyone knows. If the band doesn't, it runs the risk of starting flat.

"We've watched all of the other halftime shows many times, and most of them are fantastic," Martin said, according to the Associated Press' Mesfin Fekadu. "I think we're going to try to celebrate those other years and hopefully make a show as memorable as some of our favorites."

Hardcore and casual bettors alike will be hoping to bank on Martin's understanding of how important it is to open the show with a crowd-pleaser.

This seems like a silly bet at face value.

For hardcore bettors, maybe it is—sort of like betting on the coin toss. But taking a wild guess as to what color shoes Beyonce will wear is part of the fun with props.

Beyonce herself has done plenty to get potential viewers in the door, having dropped a surprise new song Saturday that she is likely to perform. Fekadu provided the details (via KHON2.com):

With so many extra viewers on board, the question is simple: Gold or black?

There's no massively wrong answer. Beyonce can go conservative with black or fit with the theme of the Super Bowl, an anniversary celebration, and wear gold. Bank on the latter.

Will Left Shark Appear on Stage During the Halftime Show?

Las Vegas is right to wonder if Left Shark will become a yearly thing.

For bettors, odds are it will. The funky mascot captured the mind of the globe last year and became a social-media sensation. As NBC Bay Area already noted, the costume, at least, is already in Santa Clara:

Bettors might as well go ahead and bank on somebody stepping into that costume and hitting the stage.

After all, this is a celebration of the Super Bowl's past. Love it or hate it, Left Shark has suddenly become a big part of that lore.

Welcome to the easiest bet of the Super Bowl.

Coldplay leads the way. Beyonce and whatever footwear she so desires will play a major role. And per the man himself, Bruno Mars will take the stage to help out with the festivities:

So long as the performance organizers find another 0.5 or so, bettors have an easy one on their hands.

Expect it to happen. This is the 50th anniversary, a look back at what made the past great and a hint at the future. With so many historic names having appeared at halftime, it's only right the league brings some of them back to play alongside the current known performers.

By the end of the performance, if all goes according to plan, the league will have made good on its goals, and bettors will have made a little more coin on the props that went along with it.
