Pro Japanese Baseball Team Debuts Western-Looking Plaid Jerseys
Vanessa de BeaumontFeb 5, 2016
Forget the Pittsburgh Steelers' throwback bumblebee uniforms—there's a new king of absurd athlete apparel.
The Japanese Nippon Professional Baseball league's Orix Buffaloes have debuted some decidedly Western-looking wear for the 2016 season in the form of blue and pink plaid uniforms.
The new threads, which appear to be simply alternate rather than regular colorways, were debuted—along with a new team motto—at the squad's "Happy & Good" event.
There's no denying their kooky appearance, but at least these cowboy-esque jerseys are consistent with the Buffaloes' mascot.
It's not as if many American teams can judge. After all, the NFL "Color Rush" uniforms and NBA sleeved jerseys exist.
