Super Bowl 50 Props: Panthers v. Broncos Coin Toss, National Anthem Betting Odds

OddsShark.comFeb 5, 2016

Millions of viewers will obviously tune in to Super Bowl 50 on Sunday to find out whether it will be the favored Carolina Panthers or the underdog Denver Broncos who win the Vince Lombardi Trophy.

Many bettors will also have action on hundreds of props, including some that do not even revolve around what happens on the field. From the national anthem and coin flip before The Big Game to the Gatorade shower and MVP presentation afterward, you can wager on just about everything at sportsbooks monitored by Odds Shark.

With Lady Gaga set to sing the national anthem, the question is, how long will it last? Oddsmakers have set the time line at over/under two minutes and 20 seconds, and Lady Gaga’s previous rendition in 2013 lasted five seconds less than that number.

That would explain why the under is now a minus-200 favorite (bet $200 to win $100) and the over is plus-150 (bet $100 to win $150).

You can literally flip a coin to figure out the odds of the coin toss for Super Bowl 50, with heads and tails both available at a reduced price of minus-105.

Everybody has their opinion on which side is more favorable to bet on. But when it comes down to it, history has shown a nearly equal split, with tails owning a slight 25-24 edge in the previous 49 Super Bowls. The coin-toss winner has won four of the last six Super Bowls.

Picking the color of the Gatorade dumped on the winning coach is also a popular prop wager, with orange the favorite this year at plus-130. Orange has been the color of choice in three of the past six Super Bowls, although blue, the plus-225 second choice, pulled off the upset last year.

Clear remains the most selected color by teams in the last 15 years, chosen four times, and is tied with yellow as the third choice at plus-600.

Finally, who will the Super Bowl 50 MVP credit first after winning the award? God and his team are tied for the top spot at plus-200, while not mentioning either of them is the plus-225 second choice, followed by city/fans (+600), coach (+900) and family (+1000).
