Nike Air Jordan 10 Retro 'OvO Black' Release Date, Pics, Retail Price

Brian MaziqueFeb 11, 2016

Air Jordan sneakerheads should mark their calendars black on February 13. On that day, the Nike Air Jordan 10 Retro "OvO Black" will be released, and this shoe looks like a must for anyone who is a fan of His Airness' brand.

For those who are unaware, "OvO" stands for October's Very Own. It's Drake's clothing label, and since the Canadian hip-hop superstar is a part of the Jordan Brand roster, he gets to be associated with one of the slickest designs to hit the sneaker market so far this year.

The capitalization of the "O's" and lowercasing of the "v" make the tag look like an owl, which is the trademark of Drake's brand. The owl logo can be seen on the inside heel of the shoe.

Here are the price, color and availability details:

  • Release Date: February 13, 2016
  • Color: black/black-metallic gold
  • Price: $225

Sleek, dignified and awesome are three words that come to mind when searching for ways to describe this latest Jordan Brand revamping.

Sneaker Nation HQ has an inner and outer look at the shoe:

The Retro OvO almost takes the all-black-everything approach, but the sole provides a sweet splash of metallic gold that doesn't disturb the nearly monochromatic brilliance.

The OvO is accented with stingray leather, which gives the shoe a little sparkle to complement the otherwise simplistic design.

Rashone Bryant of Sneaker Bar Detroit has a sweet review of the OvO in the video below:

A few privileged and lucky folks have gotten their hands on the white and black OvO, as the design was previously a "friends and family" exclusive that had a limited drop in April 2015, per Sole Collector.

New York Knicks shooting guard Arron Afflalo rocked a pair on January 31 in a home game against the Golden State Warriors (image per Sole Collector on Twitter):

The Dubs pounded the Knicks 116-95 that night at Madison Square Garden, but Afflalo's shoe game was tight in defeat.

Per Sole Collector, the shoe got a 76 percent cop rate on the site's poll. Will you be grabbing a pair? Tell us your thoughts in the comments section.
