Brandon Jennings, Ersan Ilyasova Reportedly Traded to Magic for Tobias Harris
A season removed from an Achilles tear, Detroit Pistons point guard Brandon Jennings is reportedly headed to the Orlando Magic in a trade that will send Tobias Harris to Detroit.
ESPN's Chris Broussard reported Jennings and Ersan Ilyasova have been traded to the Magic for Harris. TNT's David Aldridge confirmed the deal.
Michael Scotto of Sheridan Hoops initially first reported the teams had discussions around the potential deal.
Frank Isola of the New York Daily News reported Jennings was on the New York Knicks' "radar" prior to the trade.
Jennings, 26, is a seven-year vet and has developed into a leader during his time in Detroit.
"Everybody likes and listens to him," Van Gundy said, according to the Detroit Free Press' Shawn Windsor. "He has a great air of confidence that he sort of gives to everybody else. We carry ourselves a little differently with Brandon than we do without him."
Since returning to the floor on Dec. 29, Jennings is averaging 6.8 points and 3.0 assists while shooting 37.3 percent from the field and 31.2 percent from three-point range as the backup to Reggie Jackson.
Now, Jennings will be asked to provide veteran leadership and an offensive spark behind Elfrid Payton in Orlando.
