Son Goes on Radio to Plead with Father to Come Back to Old Trafford with Him

Tom WebbJun 8, 2018

A Manchester United supporter called into a radio show to plead with his father to return to Old Trafford so they could resume watching the team together.

Terry Walsh Sr. has been taking his son, Terry Walsh Jr., who is now 24, to games at Old Trafford since he was two months old. But the disgruntled United fan has stopped attending games due to the team's poor form under Louis van Gaal.

"I don't want to see what's going on there," Walsh Sr. told BBC Radio 5 Live. "It's costing me a hundred quid a week when we've got two games at home to watch that."

But that isn't enough to put off Walsh Jr., who misses his dad's company at the matches.

"We've been going since I've been a kid," said Walsh Jr. "Don't desert me, don't leave me to go my own. I want us to go and have a drink before like old times, I don't want to lose this relationship we've got with each other."

Manchester United are currently fifth in the Premier League table with 37 points from 23 games, and they progressed to the fifth round of the FA Cup with a 3-1 win away to Derby County on Friday.
