Serena Williams is a champion, even if she didn't win the Australian Open final on Saturday.

The 21-time Grand Slam winner lost to Angelique Kerber in Melbourne, and it would have been easy for the world No. 1 to show her frustration after failing once again to match Steffi Graf's Open era record of 22 major titles.

But, no. Serena was straight around the net to congratulate Kerber, offering a hug and message of congratulations to the German, who was winning her first Grand Slam.
