Unfortunately for one Chinese football fan, his moment to meet the five-time Ballon d'Or winner was overshadowed by the fact he was wearing a Los Blancos jacket.

Messi met the kid when he was in China for an hourlong special on Zhejiang TV.

His team-mates and the Barcelona star drew attention to the awkwardness of the situation as the fan posed with Messi for a photo with the Real Madrid crest on his chest.

Don't expect the Argentinian to be posting the snap on his Instagram anytime soon.
