Carlos Becker to FSU: Seminoles Land 4-Star CB Prospect
Florida State landed 4-star cornerback Carlos Becker on Wednesday, according to Alicia Rose DelGallo of the Orlando Sentinel.
"The entire ceremony is being translated in sign language so [Becker's] mother, who is deaf, can enjoy entire ceremony," noted DelGallo.
Becker, a 6'2" and 185-pound corner from Osceola High in Kissimmee, Florida, is considered 247Sports' No. 15-ranked cornerback, the 24th-best prospect in the state of Florida and the No. 153-ranked prospect overall, according to the site's composite rankings.
Becker is a tall, rangy cornerback whose excellent length and leaping ability will serve him well, especially against bigger receivers.
Becker notched five interceptions during his senior season and finished with 10 overall in his time at Osceola. Though he couldn't lead his school to a state championship, he still acknowledged his own development as a player during his time in high school.
"I felt like I grew a lot since freshman year, just trying to lead the team to the state championship," he told Chris Hays of the Orlando Sentinel. "It didn't come out like how I wanted it to, but I just gotta deal with that."
Becker's signing rounds out an excellent class of cornerbacks for Florida State that also includes 5-star Levonta Taylor—one of the top recruits in the nation, who could start immediately—and 4-star Kyle Meyers, per 247Sports.
It also rounds out another excellent recruiting class across the board for head coach Jimbo Fisher and company.
