Leo Messi Jokes About Gerard Pique's Emotional Catalan Award Acceptance Speech

Lionel Messi might be one of the most dominant sportspeople on the planet, but his banter could use some work.

The Argentinian legend poked fun at Barcelona team-mate Gerard Pique after the latter was named Catalan sportsperson of 2015, wrote Sport.

The Spaniard dedicated the award to his parents and became emotional while accepting it, momentarily losing his voice and slapping his leg before continuing.

Enter Messi, who posted a video of the moment on Instagram with the caption "How's the quadricep, Geri? I hope it's OK!"

If they can recover from the fits of laughter in time, Messi, Pique and Barcelona will take on Athletic Bilbao in the second leg of their Copa del Rey quarter-final on Wednesday evening.
