Nike Flyknit Air Force 1 Release Date, Pics and Preview

Big news has emerged out of Nike's camp. The ever-popular brand has officially unveiled a Flyknit version of the iconic Air Force 1 silhouette. 

This is an important step from a tech and vanity standpoint. Considering that the Air Force 1 is arguably Nike's most recognizable sneaker, it seems long overdue that a Flyknit version would be released. Luckily for all of us, the design team out in Beaverton, Oregon, was able to turn this pipe dream into a reality.

Considered to be half the weight of the traditional Air Force 1, what's also unique about this Flyknit rendition is that it could once again give athletes a legitimate chance to utilize this timeless sneaker on the court and in the gym.

Think about how heavy the AF1 has been. As sneakers in general have evolved using lighter materials, athletic-based use has passed the shoe by.

Presented in a scintillating "University Red" colorway and a NikeLab all-white portrayal, the Flyknit Air Force 1 is up for grabs exclusively on Nike's Tech Book app. After that initial drop, you'll get a second chance to cop these kicks via Nike.com on January 28.
