Cardinals vs. Panthers: 2016 NFC Conference Championship Video Highlights, Recap

Cam Newton has arguably been the most valuable player in the league, as he led the Carolina Panthers to a 15-1 regular-season record and the NFC's top seed. In the conference title game, he and the Panthers faced their toughest task of the season: the Arizona Cardinals.

According to Football Outsiders, the Cardinals finished with the fourth-best pass defense in the league.

Arizona was without safety Tyrann Mathieu for the entirety of the playoffs, though, and that may not have been the team's biggest concern. In his last two postseason games, Carson Palmer was 43-of-77 for 495 yards, four touchdowns and three interceptions.

Palmer wouldn't have it easy against one of the few defenses that could claim supremacy over Arizona's unit. Carolina led the league in interceptions.

The Panthers will be looking for their first Super Bowl title in franchise history after winning 49-15 in the conference championship.
