CareerBuilder Challenge 2016: Saturday Leaderboard Scores and Highlights

Joe PantornoJan 23, 2016

Jason Dufner kept his lead after shooting an eight-under in Round 3 as he sits at 23 under overall.

After shooting one under through his first nine holes, Dufner recorded seven birdies on his final nine holes. The stretch included five straight birdies from Nos. 3 through 7.

He was playing some confident golf, too. The PGA Tour shared a replay of his birdie on No. 7:

Despite his strong showing, he does have some company at the top of the leaderboard in the form of Jamie Lovemark, who sits at 21 under, and Adam Hadwin, who sits at 20 under.

Hadwin had quite a seven-hole stretch, starting on No. 3, as the PGA Tour showed:

While that run tied him with Dufner at the time, a pair of bogeys on the back nine left him sitting in third.

David Lingmerth put together one of the biggest days of the tournament with a 10-under. The Swede reeled off five consecutive birdies from Nos. 14 through 18 while adding an eagle on his way to a fourth-place standing heading into Sunday at 18 under.

Kevin Na tied Lingmerth's output, shooting a 28 on his last nine holes of the day to get to 10 under Saturday. Na also recorded an eagle on No. 7. The PGA Tour provided a replay of his birdie on No. 9:

Na is in a grouping of five golfers who are tied for fifth at 17 under. One of the golfers locked in that tie is Phil Mickelson, who shot a clean six-under Saturday.

With the big scores this tournament is producing, Dufner will have to put together another solid day if he wants to get out of La Quinta with a title. He's one mediocre outing away from plummeting out of the top spot on the leaderboard based on the way his competitors are playing.
