Twitter Reacts: Liverpool Defeat Exeter City 3-0 to Advance to FA Cup 4th Round

Liverpool were in action again (yes, again, sorry, Jurgen Klopp) on Wednesday night, hosting League Two side Exeter City in the second leg of their FA Cup third-round tie.

The German manager resisted the temptation to field a full-strength side, opting instead to give a chance to some of his fringe players:

He handed the captain's armband to Jose Enrique:

The Reds asserted their dominance early and took a deserved lead through Joe Allen:

It was the second goal from the "Welsh Pirlo/Xavi" in a week, and there were some creative answers given as to his sharp uptake in goalscoring form:

Anfield (and Twitter) rose early in the second half when Jon Flanagan made his return from long-term injury:

And shortly afterwards, Jordon Ibe rattled the woodwork:

Liverpool made sure of the victory late on with a brilliant goal from substitute Sheyi Ojo after 74 minutes and a fine finish by Joao Teixeira eight minutes later:

It was a forgettable night for Christian Benteke:

But it finished 3-0, with Liverpool advancing to the fourth round, where they will face West Ham United at Anfield.
