Ed Reed on How to Beat Tom Brady and the New England Patriots: 'Pray'

Thomas DuffyJan 19, 2016

Beating Tom Brady, Bill Belichick and the New England Patriots is no small task.

But retired legend Ed Reed has it figured out. When asked how to defeat New England during a Twitter Q&A on Tuesday, the Baltimore Ravens' all-time interceptions leader kept it short and sweet.

"Pray," he said.

As noted by Pats Pulpit, Reed had some success against the Patriots throughout his career:

"

In seven career games against Brady, four in the regular season and three in the playoffs, Ed Reed's teams are 3-4 (2-1 in the playoffs), with the safety snagging two interceptions in those games. Brady is 156/273 (57.1%) for 1,735 yards, 7 touchdowns, and 8 interceptions for a ghastly passer rating of 72.5.

"

The Denver Broncos had the best defense in the NFL this season, so it's unclear how much praying they'll be doing ahead of Sunday's AFC Championship Game.
