Barcelona Transfer News: Nolito, Eden Hazard, Douglas, Latest Blaugrana Rumours
Celta Vigo have delivered a big blow to Barcelona's attempt to sign Nolito during the January transfer window, while the latest rumours indicate the Catalans are interested in Chelsea star Eden Hazard but cannot find a new club for full-back Douglas.
As reported by Marca's Antonio Estevez, Celta director of football Miguel Torrecilla has made it very clear Nolito will only leave the club if a team is willing to trigger his buyout clause, saying: "Whoever wants Nolito has to pay his release clause now."
Per the report, the Catalans were hoping to sign their former player on loan until the end of the season before making the move permanent. Barcelona's ongoing financial problems have made an immediate switch almost impossible, per Lluis Miguelsanz of Sport.

The proposed loan deal always seemed a bit curious at best, given Celta's strong form in the 2015-16 campaign. The Galicians are still in the hunt for a Champions League ticket, and selling Nolito would effectively end any such dreams, per Bleacher Report's Karl Matchett:
With eight goals and five assists in 15 La Liga starts, the veteran has played a massive role in Celta's fast start to the campaign, per WhoScored.com. Nolito has arguably been the best forward in La Liga not playing his football in Madrid or Barcelona, so it's easy to see why Celta have no intention of letting him walk for pennies.
Here's a look at some of his season highlights:
The 29-year-old still seems likely to end up at the Camp Nou given his links with the club and former manager Luis Enrique, who now leads the Blaugrana, but a January move is becoming less likely by the minute.
Celta have no reason to sell, and Nolito is yet to openly ask for a move. Unless Barcelona come up with the cash required to close the deal, a summer switch seems more likely.
Catalan-based daily Sport, citing the English press, claimed the Blaugrana have turned their eye to Chelsea star Hazard, saying the club would be willing to pay up to €87 million for the Belgium international.
The out-of-form winger is enduring a nightmare season with Chelsea and has been linked with a move to Real Madrid, and Bleacher Report's Dean Jones and Sam Tighe wondered whether Los Blancos' impending transfer ban would complicate such a move:
Per Sport, the transfer ban is exactly why Barcelona would take advantage to sign Hazard now, with one of their top competitors out of the picture. Manchester United are also mentioned as a possible destination, although the report claims Hazard would prefer Barcelona.
It's hard to see any way in which this deal would come to fruition, however. The Catalans have no need for another attacking winger, particularly one who wouldn't represent a clear upgrade over the current options and would cost a mountain of money. Add to that the club's financial concerns touched on earlier, and this transfer becomes even less likely.
Finally, Albert Masnou of Sport reported the Catalans cannot find any takers for Douglas, despite offering to pay the full-back's wages for any interested club while he leaves Barcelona on loan.
The Brazilian joined the club in 2014 in a move that was widely mocked by Brazilian insiders like Paulo Freitas of Sky Sports, who didn't understand what the Catalans saw in the Santos man:
He has shown nothing to suggest he could be a viable replacement for compatriot Dani Alves since moving to Spain, and this season, he has made just one appearance as a substitute in La Liga, per WhoScored.com.
Barcelona's attempts to ship him out hardly come as a surprise, although you would have to assume there are clubs out there willing to bring him into the fold if the Blaugrana will indeed take care of his wages.
Douglas' tenure with Barcelona seemed doomed from the start, and as things stand, it looks likely to come to an end sooner rather than later.
