Tottenham May Have to Pay Emmanuel Adebayor's Wages Even If He Joins a New Club

Tottenham Hotspur are facing the prospect of paying Emmanuel Adebayor's wages even if he joins another club in January.

The Togolese forward left Tottenham by mutual consent in September, but the club must continue to pay his £100,000-a-week wages until the end of his contract in June.

A number of Premier League clubs including Crystal Palace and Watford are being linked with a move for the former Arsenal and Manchester City man, but they are unlikely to match his six-figure wages.

This would mean Tottenham are required to top up his pay packet to equal the terms he was on at White Hart Lane.
