Panthers Troll 'The Office' Actor Rainn Wilson After Eliminating Seahawks

Kyle NewportJan 17, 2016

Question: What happens when the Carolina Panthers win a game?

Fact: The team will have fun celebrating the win on social media.

Many people, including The Office star Rainn Wilson, were anticipating a Super Bowl rematch of the New England Patriots and Seattle Seahawks this season. In fact, Wilson went as far as to tweet out his NFL playoff thoughts Saturday, the day before the Seahawks and Panthers battled for a spot in the NFC Championship Game.

Well, Sunday's game didn't go the way Seattle fans had imagined. Carolina stormed out to a 31-0 lead in the first half before holding on for a 31-24 victory.

After the victory, the Panthers had a tweet for Wilson—aka Dwight Schrute—ready:

Anybody who has seen The Office knows the phrase "to the" was a very key part of Schrute's role at Dunder Mifflin. And Carolina didn't hold back when doing its trolling.

To his credit, Wilson was willing to congratulate Carolina on the victory:

Of course, Schrute was eventually promoted to "Assistant Regional Manager" and, ultimately, "Regional Manager." But that doesn't make the Panthers' tweet any less great.
