Maria Sharapova Shares Anecdote About Laundry Mix-Up in Australian Open Buildup
Maria Sharapova has shared a strange anecdote from her preparations for the Australian Open in Melbourne.
The Russian world No. 5 is looking to better her runner-up finish in 2015 and was—for some reason—asked about laundry mishaps on Friday, reported Reuters (h/t Daily Mail).
And rather than dismiss the query, the 28-year-old had a story prepared.

"I actually just returned a pair of underwear that wasn't mine, like 45 minutes ago. Funny you ask that. It was a female pair of underwear, not male. It was leopard. I'm like, 'that's not mine'. Any more laundry situations I need to clear up before we get on with our day?
"
Not surprisingly, there were not.
The tournament at Melbourne Park begins on Sunday, where Sharapova will face Japan's Nao Hibino in the first round.
