Colts Attempt to Take In St. Louis Fans Looking for New Team as Rams Move to LA

Kyle NewportJan 13, 2016

There's such a thing as "too soon," but when it comes to business, there's no time for waiting around.

You do what you have to do.

On Tuesday, it was announced that the St. Louis Rams would be relocating to Los Angeles for the 2016 season. Less than a day later, with St. Louis fans mourning the loss of their franchise, the Colts were already trying to make their case to those looking for a new team.

With other NFL franchises relatively close to St. Louis (such as the Kansas City Chiefs and Chicago Bears), the Colts aren't waiting around. They want to strike now by showing just how close they are to the Show-Me State.

Indianapolis has a great case to take in the St. Louis fans. According to Google Maps, the Colts are just about the same distance from the Edward Jones Dome, the Rams' former home, as the Chiefs.

Not only that, but Indianapolis is not a rival city, whereas Chicago (Cubs) and Kansas City (Royals) are home to the St. Louis Cardinals' biggest rivals.

Now, the Colts wait to see if they can become "the team" in St. Louis.
