Paige Comments on Injury
Tuesday, Jan. 12
"I hope to get back in the ring soon. It's just a slight concussion," Paige said in an interview with Scott Fishman for Channel Guide Magazine. "No big deal. Not a crazy one, but WWE is obviously very protective of their talent. I'm like, 'I'm fine. I promise.' They're like, 'No, we have to make sure you are 100 percent.' They are like parents."
Paige Latest WWE Star to Get Bitten By Injury Bug
The former Divas champion is one of many WWE wrestlers dealing with health issues. John Cena, Cesaro, Randy Orton, Seth Rollins and Daniel Bryan are all out of action.
The absence of Nikki Bella has cast a shadow over the Divas Division, and PWInsider.com (via WrestleZone's Nick Paglino) reported Sasha Banks might be out until February because of an MCL injury, further depleting the roster.
With the Road to WrestleMania underway, WWE can ill afford to lose any more Superstars or Divas.
Recoveries from concussions are nebulous. Some athletes only need a few days before they're healthy enough to return, while others require weeks or even months.
Still, the fact Paige is so optimistic about her return date is a good sign. WWE likely isn't shelving any plans it had for the Anti-Diva going into WrestleMania 32 on April 3.
