Ronnie Stanley Signs with Roc Nation Sports: Latest Details, Reaction
Ronnie Stanley, a tackle out of Notre Dame and a projected first-round pick in this year's NFL draft, has signed with Jay Z's Roc Nation Sports, the company tweeted Monday.
"It was a dream come true," Stanley told TMZ Sports. "I love Jay Z. I thought it was cool they were doing athletes back then. It's the premiere place to be...especially with my generation."
Stanley also tweeted his excitement at signing with the agency:
Liz Mullen of Sports Business Journal noted that he signed with Roc Nation agent Kim Miale.
Stanley's decision to sign with Roc Nation is hardly a surprise. The offensive tackle tweeted in April 2013 that he wanted to sign with Jay Z's company when he left college (h/t TMZ Sports).
Stanley is considered one of the top offensive lineman in this year's draft and could be selected as high as a top-five pick, though as Dane Brugler of CBS Sports tweeted in December, he may yet be a bit raw:
Still, Stanley was a key figure in Notre Dame's excellent 2015 season and has immense upside, so teams with early selections needing to upgrade the offensive line will do their due diligence on Stanley. He has the potential to be an anchor at tackle for the next decade.
