Mitch Marsh Trolls Liverpool, Calls Steven Gerrard 'Manchester United Legend'

Australian all-rounder Mitch Marsh showed his fishing prowess on Twitter on Monday by posting a provocative picture of himself with Steven Gerrard.

Marsh met the Anfield great in Sydney last week after the latter captained the Liverpool Legends to a 4-0 win over the Australian Legends at ANZ Stadium.

But 24-year-old Marsh ensured their meeting got the internet talking by referring to the former England midfielder as a "Manchester United legend."

Unfortunately for some, the irony was missed:

Marsh finished on 12 not out as Australia defeated India in the first ODI in Perth on Tuesday.
