Projecting Every NFL Team's Starting Lineup 🔮

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Why I'm Taking the Seahawks
This is not going to be an easy game for Seattle. They're going to travel to Minnesota where the Vikings will be hosting their first outdoor playoff game since 1976. And the weather has a present for the two teams involved on Sunday.
According to Accuweather.com, temperatures at TCF Field could reach as low as negative-21 degrees on Sunday, which might take away from the Seahawks' red-hot passing game that has seen quarterback Russell Wilson throw for 24 touchdowns in his last seven games.
In fact, he's been the best quarterback in the league since Week 11, as NFL Network shows:
The cold temperatures could play into the Vikings' favor if the game becomes run-heavy. Adrian Peterson led the league with over 1,400 yards in 2015 while Seattle's Marshawn Lynch will not be playing, according to NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport (via NFL.com's Conor Orr).
But don't tell Wilson that his play might be affected, as he spoke with ESPN.com's Sheil Kapadia:
"Fortunately I have big hands (10 1/4 inches), so that helps, too.
When it comes to throwing, you want to be comfortable. You want to do what you always do. For me, that's what I've always done, just throw with my bare hand...You get used to the cold. It shouldn't be a big deal at all.
"
The problem is, Seattle has Minnesota's number. In an earlier meeting this season in Week 13, the Seahawks absolutely beat down the Vikings 38-7 in Minnesota. If it hadn't been for Cordarrelle Patterson's 101-yard kickoff return, the Vikings would have been shut out.
Seattle held Minnesota to just 125 total yards on offense and sacked Teddy Bridgewater four times. If they can't do anything against the Seahawks in 40 degrees, they won't be doing much in negative-10.
Prediction: Seahawks win 24-17
Why I'm Taking the Packers
Not much over the last two months of the season suggests that I should even consider taking the Green Bay Packers over the Washington Redskins.
Nothing represents the teams' fortunes more than the quarterbacks in Washington's Kirk Cousins and Green Bay's Aaron Rodgers. Cousins, who wasn't even guaranteed a starting job in July, has been one of the hottest quarterbacks on the planet over the past 10 weeks while the Super Bowl-winning Rodgers has struggled.
Just look at their numbers since Week 7, courtesy of SportsCenter:
But the Redskins simply don't beat winning teams. All nine of their wins came against teams at or under .500. They came out of the weakest division in the league in the NFC East and had the fifth-weakest schedule in the NFL in 2015, according to FantasyIndex.com.
The 15-1 Carolina Panthers are the only playoff team that had a weaker schedule.
Against teams with winning records, the Redskins are 0-3 and didn't have much of a chance in any of them as they were outscored 105-46.
Aaron Rodgers, on the other hand, has received zero help from his team over the past few months. Only Blake Bortles of the Jacksonville Jaguars was sacked more than Rodgers this year. A mobile quarterback, Rodgers does well to extend plays with his legs. Still, being sacked 46 times this year says a lot about his lack of protection.
Washington is a middle-of-the-road defense, ranked 14th with 38 sacks this season. But with the way the Packers' offensive line has performed, pressure is expected to fall on Rodgers.
That being said, though, I'm taking Rodgers over Cousins. This will be Washington's fourth quality opponent of the season and Rodgers performs in the playoffs. He's thrown 23 touchdowns and seven interceptions in 11 games in the postseason.
If the Packers were playing an opponent from any other division in the NFC, I would probably pick against them, but I've been so unimpressed by the NFC East this season, I can't see a team making the divisional round.
Prediction: Packers win 31-24
