Wayne Rooney Talks 'Star Wars,' Says Juan Mata Is His 'Footballing Yoda'

England captain Wayne Rooney has appeared in a bizarre new promo talking about all things Star Wars.

"I think it's incredible for over 40 years now Star Wars has been made in Britain," said Rooney. He then compared Manchester United team-mate Juan Mata to Jedi master Yoda, saying, "He's very talented, he's small. ... He's very intelligent on and off the pitch, and in some ways, he's a bit of a genius."

He went on to put a few Star Wars characters into a football team, starting Chewbacca at centre-half and in goal and placing Yoda in midfield because he's "intelligent and can control the game."

Sounds like desperate times are calling for desperate measures at Old Trafford.
