Al Ahly Claim Barcelona Are 'Trying to Deceive' as World's Most Successful Club

Egyptian club Al Ahly have hit out at Barcelona for claiming to be the world's most successful football club.

Al Ahly claim that title for themselves, having won 20 continental titles in their 109-year history.

That compares favourably with Barca's total of 17, the latest of which came when the Catalans lifted the FIFA Club World Cup in December.

"They are trying to deceive everyone to reach what we have achieved long ago," Al Ahly said on Facebook. "But the truth is evident. We are the most successful club in the world and realise that our titles won't stop."
