Keaton Barron's start to the new year will be difficult to top.

The five-year-old Oklahoma City Thunder fan underwent his final round of chemotherapy on Dec. 27 of last year to be deemed cancer-free after a three-year battle with leukemia, per ESPN.com's David Purdum.

That was the first of three goalsย Barron outlined on a poster he brought along with him toย Chesapeake Energy Arena on Monday night to watch the Thunder take on the Sacramentoย Kings, checked off just above the already completed "Plan trip to Disney."

The only box left unchecked? "Meet KD," a clever campaign to meet his favorite player that paid off.

At halftime, Kevin Durantย helped the young fan check that final box, coming out to snap photos with him. Durant also gaveย Barron his game-worn Christmas Day sneakers, which should look great with his "KD is my Homeboy" shirt.
