Fantasy Football Week Three Starts 'N' Sits for Success
After the fantasy explosion in Week Two, there is a good chance you didn’t need any advice on who to start or who to sit. We may not be so lucky in Week Three.
Once you've read the three S’s for success but sure to watch my Week Three Fantasy Football video (click link) or watch my entire NFL Week Three Preview video (click link).
Star
(Maybe) Sit: Frank Gore Vs Minnesota - This is not a must but you have to question SF's one man show against one of the best run defenses in the NFL coming off a big week. Gore still has a decent scoring potential but he isn't likly to break the 100 total yard mark. LoStradamus prediction: 70 total yards.
Start: Brandon Jacobs Vs Tampa Bay - There hasn't been much excitement for Jacobs owners so far this season but don't remove him from the lineup just yet. The Bucs are quickly becoming demoralized and Jacobs is jus the back to squash their dreams. LoStradamus prediction: 110 total yards and two TDs.
Start: Matt Forte Vs Seattle - The Seahawks are soft all over on defense, especially up the middle. There is a chance Lofa Taupu will play but if he's not at 100 percent it might not be enough to stop Forte from having his first big game of the season. LoStradamus prediction: 150 total yards and one TD.
Start: Jay Cutler Vs Seattle - For many of the same reasons that Forte is a start in Week Three, Cutler is too. He may not wow with yardage but look for him to put the ball in the end zone. LoStradamus prediction: 250 yards and three TDs.
Starter
Start: Santana Moss Vs Detroit - Last year Moss burned Detroit and his lack of touches in 2009 will have him hungry for a big game. The Lions pass defense is as bad as ever which should give Moss some open avenues underneath and over the top. LoStradamus prediction: 120 total yards and one TD.
Start: Baltimore RB Trio Vs Cleveland - Of the three, Ray Rice has the best fantasy potential but Willis McGahee is the Ravens red zone back and there is no reason to change that up in Week Three.
If you're looking for a deep league pickup go with Le'Ron McClain, I like his deceptive style. LoStradamus prediction: Rice (100 total yards), McGahee (70 total yards and one TD), McClain (40 total yards and one TD).
Sit: Tampa Bay Backs Vs New York - 251 rushing yards will not be tolerated by the Giants D and they are going to take out a rough week of practice on the Bucs backs. Give Derrick Ward & Cadillac Williams a rest this week. LoStradamus prediction: Williams (50 total yards), Ward (40 total yards).
Sit: Cedric Benson Vs Pittsburgh - Benson threw up 141 yards in my face last week after giving him a site but I must go against him again as he faces the Steelers who he has a career 2.9 YPC against. LoStradamus prediction: 45 total yards.
Sleeper
Start: LeSean McCoy Vs Kansas City - Brian Westbrook is entering the game with a bum ankle which means the Eagles will only want to use him when they need to. McCoy has been solid running and receiving, he will get more opportunities between the 20's and if the Eagles have a lead he will get a shot at a TD. LoStradamus prediction: 85 total yards.
Start: Beanie Wells Vs Indianapolis - The Colts have been gashed for 353 yards in two games and the Cards are looking to get the running game going more and more. Tim Hightower will still be the starter but Wells and his great YPC could break away for a big score. LoStradamus prediction: 65 total yards and one TD.
Start: Knowshon Moreno Vs Oakland - After 97 total yards in Week Two, Moreno is adjusted to the NFL style of play and ready to get in the end zone. The Raiders are not soft against the run but Moreno will get his touches and he is a very good receiver. LoStradamus prediction: 100 total yards.
