The full marathon will take runners through all four Disney theme parks and the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex. Runners will be joined by Disney characters along the course and entertainment that will keep competitors and spectators alike entertained.
LuisGoTube mapped out the 26.2-mile course on YouTube:
Runners that wanted to compete in costume to add to the fun atmosphere might want to think otherwise, as Disney has changed their wardrobe rules, per TheDisneyBlog.com:
"With the first big race of 2016, the Walt Disney World Marathon (and its associated events) this weekend, it may mean some last minute scrambling to find new running outfits for participants. Among the garb that is now prohibited would be Star Wars Jedi Robes, full body costumes, props that wrap around the body, and items that resemble weapons.
"
Garb aside, the Disney World Marathon is still going to provide one of the toughest athletic tests one could try to hurdle. But on this weekend, there is a little more magic to it.
