Pierre-Paul Dealing with Ankle Injury
Friday, Jan. 1
According to the Giants' injury report, the two-time Pro Bowl defensive end missed practice Wednesday and Thursday and was limited Friday.
At least this problem isn't at all connected to the various hand injuries Pierre-Paul suffered in his July 4 fireworks accident. He missed the first eight weeks of the season, and ESPN's Dan Graziano reported Pierre-Paul will have another surgery on his right hand in the offseason.
The season is already over for the Giants, too, with New York eliminated from the playoff hunt. Should the team be without Pierre-Paul on the defensive line, his absence wouldn't have significant consequences.
Pierre-Paul's former college teammate George Selvie would likely move up in the depth chart Sunday if necessary. Selvie has appeared in 11 games, making three starts with one sack and 24 combined tackles.
