Power Ranking Brock Lesnar's Best Potential Feuds for WWE Royal Rumble 2016

Donald WoodDec 30, 2015

There are few stars in the wrestling industry with as much mainstream appeal as Brock Lesnar, and booking him properly at the 2016 edition of the Royal Rumble and onto the Road to WrestleMania should be the top priority for WWE.

While battles against WWE world heavyweight champion Roman Reigns or the League of Nations and their leader Sheamus seem the most likely, there is also a chance he returns and simply destroys any and every Superstar who stands in his way.

Here are the best potential feuds for Lesnar heading into Royal Rumble.

1. The Entire Roster

The best booking for Lesnar is as an absolute destroyer, and if he is entering his name into the mix as part of the Royal Rumble, he will need to utterly demolish everyone he comes in contact with on the road to the pay-per-view.

Lesnar is one of the most dominant forces in the history of the wrestling business, and he would instantly be the favorite in the Royal Rumble if he enters the match. If WWE is putting him in the Battle Royal, he must go in looking like a machine by beating down several midcard Superstars.

Depending on whether the company brings him back as a heel or a face, Lesnar could simply show up on an episode of Raw before the Royal Rumble and pick a fight. After laying waste to anyone who steps in his way, Lesnar would be the clear top contender.

While Lesnar winning the Royal Rumble and fighting Reigns at WrestleMania would be an interesting storyline, positioning Lesnar as the favorite only to be taken out by his eventual WrestleMania challenger is an even more intriguing option.

2. Roman Reigns

As mentioned above, Lesnar winning the Royal Rumble this year is a very real possibility, and that would set up the rematch between the No. 1 contender and the world champion, Roman Reigns.

Lesnar destroyed Reigns during their last match against each other at WrestleMania 31, but the spotlight was stolen by Seth Rollins and the Money in the Bank briefcase. This year is much different, though.

Instead of the crowd hating Reigns like they did to start 2015, the WWE Universe is supporting him after he finally beat down both Triple H and Vince McMahon before ultimately winning the championship.

WWE is clearly supporting Reigns as one of the next faces of the brand, and building Lesnar as a monster leading up to the match would build serious intrigue. Just as it was last year, Lesnar would dominate Reigns, but the champion would show his fighting spirit.

What better way to sell Reigns as the next top star in the company than by having him be the man who slays The Beast Incarnate?

3. Sheamus

If Lesnar doesn’t enter the Royal Rumble, he will likely be added to the rematch between Reigns and Sheamus for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.

Lesnar will get a face reaction regardless of how WWE portrays him due to his physical ability and his affiliation with Paul Heyman. With that in mind, Lesnar stalking Sheamus and his League of Nations stablemates en route to the PPV would make for interesting television.

Week by week, Lesnar could suplex members of the group into submission. Starting with King Barrett and then moving on to Alberto Del Rio and Rusev, Sheamus would always be just out of reach before the two men finally battle at the Royal Rumble.

Add in Reigns and the world title to the mix, and that is a marquee secondary Triple Threat that would make the Royal Rumble PPV a truly monumental way to start the Road to WrestleMania 32.
