The Ohio State Buckeyes will already miss Adolphus Washington through suspension, and the team will be without another defensive tackle as it heads to Glendale, Arizona, for the Fiesta Bowl.

Buckeyes head coach Urban Meyer (via Bill Rabinowitz of the Columbus Dispatch) announced Sunday Tommy Schutt will be unable to play against the Notre Dame Fighting Irish.

Schutt Dealing with Broken Foot

Sunday, Dec. 27

Over the past few weeks, Schutt was doubtful for the Fiesta Bowl, and Meyer finally ended the uncertainty.

The senior defensive lineman hasn't been among Ohio State's most integral players, picking up 2.5 sacks and five tackles for loss in 2015. However, he took on an added importance with Washington out of the equation for New Year's Day.

"It will be a rotation," said Meyer on Dec. 17 about how he'll handle his defensive line, per Ryan Lewis of the Akron Beacon Journal. "And then Joey Bosa goes in there quite a bit."

C.J. Prosise should be on the field for Notre Dame, and in the event the star running back is unable to play, the Fighting Irish have Josh Adams, who ran for 492 yards in the team's final four games of the regular season.

Stopping the ground game will be key for Ohio State, and achieving that goal will be much more difficult for the Buckeyes with two of their top tackles unavailable.
