When Atlanta Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan needs to make a play, all he has to do is get the football in the vicinity of receiver Julio Jones.

The three-time Pro Bowl wideout will do the rest.

Late in the third quarter of Sunday's game against the Carolina Panthers, the Falcons faced 3rd-and-13 from their own 30-yard line. Ryan escaped pressure and, knowing he was about to get popped, launched the ball down the field to Jones, hoping for the best.

That's not a bad strategy when Jones is on your team.

The 6'4" star snatched the ball out of the air over Carolina linebacker Luke Kuechly. And then he cruised into the end zone for a 70-yard touchdown.

The fifth-year Falcon made some history on the play, according to Atlanta communications manager Matt Haley:

With that catch Julio Jones has 1,692 receiving yards this season, the 8th most in a single season in NFL history according to @STATS_NFL

Jones' touchdown gave the Falcons a 14-10 lead over the undefeated Panthers with just more than two minutes to play in the third quarter.
